Our history
Since 1994 — the year of our first digital activity on the Internet — we have combined our deep knowledge of the healthcare sector with the needs of scientific communication.
Our experience has been the foundation of many highly successful editorial and entrepreneurial initiatives, including:
- EDRA, with the first online medical daily Doctornews33 and its numerous publications;
- PKE and SICS, with Quotidiano Sanità — the leading publication in scientific and healthcare communication;
- DOCTORSHOP, the most important Italian healthcare marketplace.
We developed in Italy the first eDetailing and Omnichannel Marketing applications.
Asset
The DS Health Data Healthcare Information System includes about two million records, covering all healthcare professions and most public and private operators in the sector.
DSHD’s activity involves mapping data from public sources (Professional Orders, Ministries, Health Agencies, Regional Authorities, and both CME and non-CME training activities), cataloguing all operators into approximately 30,000 known healthcare facilities. The system is updated quarterly through more than thirty automated procedures that operate 24/7 to gather and validate information, overseen by a team of healthcare data experts.
Other databases available on the Italian market do not offer the same quality and are generally derived from:
- information provided by medical-scientific representatives,
- data collected from the web,
- registrations to digital initiatives that are sometimes unverified.
These three data collection methods are useful but insufficient to build and maintain a complex system like the healthcare one — especially when data entry personnel work outside Italy and are unfamiliar with the continuous and intricate updates of our National Health Service.
Community online
Our DS Card community includes a subset of approximately 2,000,000 healthcare operators who have subscribed to our services and provided GDPR-compliant consent.
The community is highly dynamic and currently includes around 500,000 industry professionals, primarily Physicians, Biologists, and Pharmacists.
We publish our data on a daily basis and, upon request, can provide detailed breakdowns of specializations by age group and professional activity.
We rely on our internal expertise in this work — MEDILOGY® for the pharmaceutical sector, DIETOSYSTEM® for the nutritional field, and DSM TECH® for clinical applications.
